- Walk with far less fear of falling.
- Stand upright in a natural posture instead of leaning over a frame.
- Use your hands freely for doors, bags or exercises.
- Rest safely at any time without needing a chair.
- Build stamina gently by walking further in safe sessions.
- Feel more confident indoors and outdoors.
Traditional walkers push your weight forward. If the frame moves or your hands slip, you can fall. LifeGlider supports your core so your centre of gravity stays inside the frame. You stand taller, feel more stable and move your legs more freely.
LifeGlider is for adults and older children who can take some weight through their legs but struggle with balance, stability or confidence when walking.

The medical term for a rounded or hunchback posture is kyphosis. Excessive curvature can cause pain, breathing restriction and reduced upright mobility. Long term use of rollators, Zimmer frames and crutches can worsen forward flexion.
- Kyphosis: excessive forward curvature of the upper back.
- Symptoms: pain, fatigue, limited extension, breathing difficulty.
- Types: postural, Scheuermanns, congenital.
Standard walking aids force users to lean forward, grip tightly and load their upper limbs, worsening kyphotic posture.
- Supports pelvis inside the frame.
- Reduces forward leaning.
- Less arm and shoulder strain.
- Encourages upright gait and better breathing.
Search terms: kyphosis mobility aid, posture walking aid, thoracic hyperkyphosis support, upright gait trainer, physio gait rehab tool.
LifeGlider is highly effective for short term recovery after injuries and surgery. It supports early mobilisation while reducing strain and fall risk.
Supports recovery such as:- Hip replacement
- Knee replacement or ligament reconstruction
- Ankle fractures or ORIF surgery
- Tibia, fibula and patella fractures
- Spinal surgery recovery
- Trauma rehab with partial weight bearing
- High wrist, elbow and shoulder loading.
- Nerve compression from poorly fitted crutches.
- Instability, slips and coordination challenges.
- Forward flexion strain on lumbar spine.
- Compensatory gait patterns slow rehab.
- Hands free walking.
- Pelvic/core support reduces fear.
- Supports offloading when pain increases.
- More symmetrical gait.
- Encourages circulation and early mobilisation.
- Prevents collapse if legs give way.
Early mobilisation is linked to shorter recovery times and fewer complications. LifeGlider enables safer, earlier walking.
Standard walking aids move your weight forward through your hands. If your feet slip or the frame shifts, the risk of falling remains high. For many it is not a question of if but when.
Problems with standard walking aids- Loss of balance from leaning forward.
- Slips and instability on uneven surfaces.
- Hands always occupied.
- Arm and shoulder strain.
- Poor posture and progressive hunching.
- Pelvic support keeps centre of mass stable.
- Harness prevents collapse if legs give way.
- Hands free for doors, bags and support rails.
- Encourages upright, safer gait.
Falls cause fractures, head injuries, loss of confidence and long hospital stays.
- Physical injuries

It should not be this hard for disabled people to get the equipment they need. What makes it worse is that when equipment finally arrives, it is often outdated and unsuitable. Wheelchairs and scooters provide freedom, but when used alone without a walking plan, they also stop people walking.
I support wheelchairs and scooters, but they must be part of a rehabilitation pathway. If we stop someone walking, we remove circulation, strength, independence and mental wellbeing.
People deserve better. Walking matters. When supported correctly, many people can walk more than they ever believed possible.
The final wordIt is time to stop issuing mobility aids that create further disability. Do not give ambulatory users only a wheelchair. Give them a wheelchair and a LifeGlider.
Encourage walking. Reduce decline. Support independence. Help people live longer, healthier lives.
LifeGlider units purchased through consumer or retail channels are not authorised or warranted for clinical, multi user or commercial service environments. For these environments, it is important to lease the LifeGlider Pro, which is made specifically for heavier use by multiple user, administered by a range or staff. Training should also be booked for commercial and medical use environments.
