Madiba2Go by ShonaquipSE

Madiba2Go is an award winning, modular paediatric full body seating system for children who need more postural support than a standard stroller or wheelchair can provide. Designed especially for children with low tone, poor trunk control, or complex positioning needs. The seat is lightweight, highly adjustable, and built to grow with the child. A quick release interface lets the same seat move between different mobility bases, so one seating system can be used at home, school, therapy, and outdoors.

Key Features

  • Modular full body postural seating: Supports full body alignment, not just sitting. Ideal for children who slump, slide, tilt or fatigue in standard buggies and chairs.
  • Designed for low tone: Built specifically for children with low muscle tone who need extra postural support to sit safely and comfortably.
  • Grows with your child: Adjustable back height, seat depth, trunk width and recline to maintain an accurate fit over time.
  • Trunk side supports: Adjustable supports keep the torso midline and stable, reducing collapse to the side.
  • Pelvic side supports and padded pelvic strap: Prevents sliding and pelvic rotation, supporting stable hip positioning.
  • Pressure care seat cushion and back cushion: Comfort focused support that helps protect skin and improves posture.
  • Tilt in space compatibility: Helps manage fatigue and tone while maintaining alignment, useful for longer days out.
  • Quick release interface: Seat clips on and off compatible bases quickly, allowing one seat to be used across different environments.
  • Headrest options: Multiple headrest shapes available to match different head and neck support needs.
  • Footbox and footrest options: Choice of supports for secure lower limb alignment and comfort.
  • Laptray options: Multiple tray styles available, including supportive posture trays for play, learning and feeding.
  • Padded straps available: Additional straps can be added for clinical positioning or transport safety.
  • Lightweight: Seat weight ranges from 6 kg to 9.5 kg including posture tray depending on size, easy for daily handling.

Who This Helps

Madiba2Go is ideal for babies and children who need structured postural support to sit safely and comfortably.

  • Children with low tone who struggle to sit upright.
  • Children who collapse at the trunk or pelvis in normal pushchairs.
  • Children who slide forward or lean heavily to one side.
  • Children who fatigue quickly without proper support.
  • Families needing one seating system that works across multiple buggy bases.
  • Children needing a long term seat that grows with them.

Suitable from around 6 months upwards, across four sizes.

Conditions Supported

Commonly recommended for children with:

  • Cerebral palsy, especially low tone or mixed tone profiles.
  • Global developmental delay.
  • Hypotonia.
  • Neuromuscular disorders.
  • Genetic or metabolic syndromes affecting posture.
  • Complex seating needs where a standard chair does not hold alignment.

Why This Seat Matters

Correct postural seating helps maintain pelvic and hip alignment, keeps the spine midline, improves head control and visual engagement, reduces fatigue from fighting gravity, supports safer feeding and breathing, enables better hand use for play and learning, and protects skin through pressure care cushioning. Madiba2Go is built to deliver these benefits daily at home, school and outdoors.
